Bio
Emran Feroz is an Austrian-Afghan journalist, war reporter and author. Due to the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan, Feroz's parents fled to Austria, where he was born and raised. He studied political science and Islamic studies at the University of Tübingen and works as a freelance journalist for Die Zeit, Die Tageszeitung, Al Jazeera and The New York Times. His focus is on Afghanistan and U.S. drone strikes. Feroz is the founder of the virtual Drone Memorial. During the Taliban's advance in Afghanistan in 2021, he appeared as an expert in numerous German-language and international media. His book Der längste Krieg (The Longest War), published in 2021 in this context, became a bestseller in Germany.
